Welcome to SixthString
I'm a music librarian and classical guitarist. This site is intended to be a place where I can post some of the things that I've been working on.
Cheers,
James Mason
sonata l.352 - D. Scarlatti
Sorry, no score for this one, at least not yet. Posted May 30, 2006
presto di molto - C.P.E. Bach
This is the third movement to a keyboard suite by C.P.E. Bach. The previous movements are below. Posted May 30, 2006
sonata k.308 - D. Scarlatti
This simple and lyrical keyboard sonata by Scarlatti took a fair amount of fiddling with to fit on to the guitar, but here it is. Posted April 24, 2006
allegro - C.P.E. Bach
This is an arrangement of a late keyboard sonata composed by C.P.E. Bach. I've transposed the entire suite down a perfect fourth. Other than that and a few octave re-arrangements, the piece is relatively true to the original. Posted March 14, 2006, revised April 24, 2006.
allegretto - C.P.E. Bach
Here is the allegretto movement. Posted March 14, 2006, revised April 24, 2006.
fugue (BWV 997) - Sebastian Johann Bach
This is the fugue from what is often referred to as Bach's second lute suite. This piece was likely originally written for an keyboard instrument, yet is played on lute and guitar regularly. My version transposes from the original c minor down to a minor, which is common for most of the arrangements for guitar. Posted March 14, 2006
variation - James Mason
This is an original composition that I just finished. It is a slow meditative piece written in a simple song form. Posted March 14, 2006
